Default Can I use Gmail app with an Unlimited Web Plan?

I wanted to download Gmail directly from Google but I'm not sure if I will be charged. I only have the Unlimited Web plan NOT including Unlimited Texting. Will Gmail charge me any texts? Please give me a heads up! Thanks.

Some people, like myself, prefer to use the Gmail app since you can search your emails for something in specific, switch between Gmail accounts if you have more than one, report SPAM, etc. I rather use my Gmail app even though I have my Gmail account set up on my BB.

I understand what armando is saying but the lafemmme said they wanted to download their email from the app. I would have to say that using it just to get email makes no sense and is a real waste of blackberry function and maybe because lafemme doesn't quite understand what a blackberry can do for them. Its about making email easy to access and more accessible, not downloading another app to get your email.

Thank you so much to you all for being so helpful. I wanted to use the Gmail because I had no idea an BB email set-up existed on the device. I looked harder and finally figured it was Manage Internet Email under 'Settings'. I'm so glad to have found this. Just to be sure, the BB email uses data right?

Perhaps I didn't quite understand your concern earlier and I apologize for that. If you're going to set your Gmail to your Blackberry, make sure you configure 'forwarding' so when you get an email that it will be forwarded to your Blackberry. Also, you shouldn't get charged but maybe someone could clarify this since I am a bit new to the Blackberry world.

Yep, all email is data. Don't worry.

You can browse the web, use 3rd party apps, use BBM, send PIN messages, send/get all the email you want...it's all included.

The ONLY things that aren't included with data are text messages (SMS) and pic messages (MMS).

I'm a bit confused here. I have my Gmail and Hotmail account set up on my Blackberry BIS and if I don't use "Forward Messages to Device", I won't get any e-mails to my phone. When you set up an e-mail address on your Blackberry, it will automatically set "Forward Messages to Device" by default. Can you or anyone clarify this for me please? Thanks.
