Can Customers Porting Into Tmobile Get a New Customer Discount?
Hello all,
I just ported my number over from AT&T to wonderful T-Mobile. I added my line into my parents family plan. This is the current status of our account:
3 lines out of contract
1 ported line out of contract
We have been with T-Mobile for 3-4 years now. At the time of port, I did not request for a new phone. I just got a sim card that I popped into my unlocked AT&T phone. I wanted to get the BB 9700 when it comes out and was going to make do with my AT&T phone until then. I was curious to see if I would get a new customer discount so I called T-Mobile and inquired about it. The rep told me that in order for me to get a new customer discount ALL 4 of my lines would need to go into a 1 year contract. On top of that, 3 of the existing lines would only get a partial discount and my ported line would get a full discount. This seems a little silly to me. Can someone explain if this is really the only way?
Also, my dad needs a new phone as well so we are looking to get 2 new phones and dont mind extending the contract for 2 of our lines. I believe it is possible to extend on only certain lines because we have done this with T-Mobile before to get new phones.
Thank you for your time!
