Default Caller ID question

Is there a way that my name doesn't show up when I call house phones? I know I can change the settings on my phone to show up blocked, but I'd just like to know if there's a way I can just have my name blocked, not the number. I know with AT&T I could just select to not show my name on caller ID's on my account with their website and it's a done deal so I'm wondering if there's something like that with T-Mobile.

Thanks to anyone that can help!

you have to call the company and ask them to take your name off the caller id option and just leave your number if that is what you choose.

Your carrier (t-mobile) would have to change it for you. Have you called customer service?

Well who does then?

My FULL name shows up on land line caller ID's when I call them from my T-Mobile phone.

It's annoying because MY names shows up when my wife calls people, because both phones are in my name.

Call T-Mobile and ask for a caller ID change. T-Mobile does not send the name every time. It comes from a CNAM database. T-Mobile, however, can send the request to alter the name associated with your number. Typically takes 3-4 business days for the process to go through.

Also, you can have different names for different lines. Your wife can have her name show up if she chooses.

when did this start.......and yes it comes from a CNAM database...however it was never TMOs policy to filter insert individual names....so this is interesting...the only carriers I was aware of that did this was sprint and alltel

When I activate a new line for a customer, phone reps give me the option of showing name and number, or just number. Activating a line through the computer system automatically selects name and number, but a quick phone call to CC by myself of the customer changes that. It's been this way for as long as I've been selling T-Mobile (~6 years)

If you don't want your name shown, just give them a call. They'll gladly take it off.
