Thumbs down BOO for T-Mobile!

Sooooo...I was just taking a look at my monthly bill and found out that my unlimited family loyalty plan no longer qualifies for my 15% corporate discount...the rep very nonchalantly explained that the "error" that had allowed me to receive the discount during the first few months that I had my loyalty plan had been "fixed," so I should expect my discount to pretty much disappear. Of all the whack excuses I have heard in my life, this one takes the cake...sounds to me like just another sneaky tactic to squeeze more $$ out of the consumer. I'll tell you what: along with all the other rate hikes and mandatory data plan BS T-Mo has been pulling over the last few months, my 7+ years of loyalty is about to walk right out the door to another carrier. At this rate, their behavior and pricing is approaching that of AT&T and Verizon--minus the way cooler BBs.

Yeah it kinda stinks. I'm in the same situation as you. When I got the Loyalty plan, I was promised that my discount would still be honoured but then this **** happens.
Not cool. However, I'm stuck I can't go to Verizon or ATT because unlim min = 99/month. No thanks.

On the bright side, the discount still applies to your features, like BB plan and txting...

Lol, I guess the rep could tell how annoyed I was, and that was what he kept repeating. In all honesty, I do love my service and pricing with T-Mo (so much so that I can bear other carriers getting the cooler phones first and sometimes exclusively), but I guess I just feel cheated or like I was tricked. Oh well...

I did...same verdict. Basically, they're not gonna give me (or anyone else) a $150 plan (I've got two lines) for $90 and then turn around and shave off another $14 from a corporate discount.

I mean I gotta be honest.....this is a bit of sour lemons...While I understand you're upset.... you're asking for discounts on top of discounts......you still are saving money over vzw and better cs than att VZW and Sprint......cooler bb's? what do you want...the 8900 with UMA is ONLY TMO......you wont find a cooler better bb IMHO.......please show me ANY carrier where you'll get what you get with TMO for the price you get it......

I hope most people will agree here......there's gotta be a point where people say enough.....I mean you sound like you basically won't be happy till its free because....well just because....I have a corporate/govt disc too...i'll gladly give it up for the deal your currently getting ;(

I can understand why you feel tricked.

At the time of giving out the Loyalty Plans, T-Mobile told people (myself included) that discounts WOULD work on the plan. It doesn't seem very far that it would be taken away after they said that it would work.

I mean, I can't complain too much as I use the Unlimited Plan to its full extent. Still, I can see what you mean. :/

Yeah.. i even got it in writing from them that I get the discount on the loyalty.... except if you read the fine print it is sliding fee and I guess they can slide it to ZERO

Hmmmm.

Corporate discount = used for office and work.
Family plan = used for home and family.

Yeah they definitely cheated and tricked you. I'd get a lawyer and sue them.

That is true. The deal is good and the 8900 is better than the Tour except no 3G. And 3G isn't always what it is cracked up to be.

Practices like this are [sadly] commonplace among the major carriers although T-Mobile isn't as blatantly offensive as, say, Big Red. It's good to see the FCC finally taking steps to put pressure on the carriers to change these policies and practices.

It's unfortunate that T-Mobile didn't honor your loyalty discount as you were told they would but we're all still getting an arguably better value for our money with T-Mobile.
