That's cheap! I guess that's for new contracts for 2 years.

Yep, my wife's line just qualified for full upgade and I noticed the new price.

I want to get it for myself using her line (& give her my 8900) but she doesn't have/need/or want a data plan and I would have to get one to qualify for the discount.

ah well...gotta do some thinking.

Does anyone know if the retail price dropped as well?

I'm surprised at how fast it dropped but I'm not complaining

It is still 449 on the website with the EM+ plan... so I guess no discount.

Ah well.

I'm curious to see what other BBs are in the future. So I'll wait a while before I get another.

I'm not really seeing a big advantage to 3G Artemis. The trackpad is nice. I'm liking the trackpad more than I thought I would. But I suspect you aren't missing anything with the lack of 3G.

Ugh... I *just* got my 9700 for $199. I called them and they said they wouldn't do anything. So.... now I return the one for $199, and get out of my contract. Then, I can re-upgrade for $129, or go somewhere else. Is the $70 worth it? Probably not, but it's the principal of the thing now.

Just ordered my 8520. I'm getting rid of my flipberry finally!

TMo let me upgrade for 79.99 even though I only upgraded to my 8220 6 months ago. They also agreed to wave activation and express ship for free! I'm excited.

I would have gone with the 9700, but I didn't want to spend the $. The 8520 will be more than adequate.

Too bad the price didn't drop for employee pricing.

"RIM R&D: PLEASE enable an "on-off" feature for the threaded SMS code in the 5.0 OS. Your threaded sms code is horrible and we must be given the choice to turn it off. Sadly, unless this is fixed, I will never buy another BlackBerry."

I hope they don't do what you want. That way one day you will not have a need to be on Crackberry.
