Default Blackberry WIFI, Data question

Sorry but I'm always at a loss when it comes to the whole data thing with my Blackberry, so I apologize for the stupid question in advance.

I have the Curve and added WIFI and Data plan to it awhile back.

I notice I basically hardly use data at all . I have the $19.99 plan and keep thinking I hate to give it up incase I might need it. "ONE DAY" in the future if I change things around. I DO have WIFI hotspot service so I can get on that way.

I guess I want to ask to make sure....... if I have the WIFI paid service(whatever you want to call it nowadays with all the name changes) and my Blackberry , so I WON'T get charged anything for data if I'm going through Wifi right????? Also there is no way I will get charged for DATA accidently if i cut my data plan off...Right???? I'm thinking it won't even work at all except when I'm in a hotspot...is this correct?

i am so embarassed asking this . I asked customer service but welll you know... they don't always say the correct thing and I would hate to cut the data service and find out I was told wrong.

Wifi should work regardless of any plan you have.

Your BB data plan includes wifi already. The curve will connect to the hotspots if you have wifi preferred.

Your Wi-Fi will work, with or without a data plan.
Without a data plan, however, you WILL lose push email function and BBM.

The WiFi plan your talking about only enables you to connect to T-Mobile hotspots that's it. You can drop that service and still use your WiFi at your house, work, or any other non t-mobile hotspots. Also to let you know if you get rid of your 20$ unlimited data plan, and want to add it again the price has been uped to 34.99$ a month, but the new plan includes unlimited picture messages, where the 20$ plan does not. At least thats how it was in my area.

What was the $19.99 unlimited BB plan is now the $24.99 BB unlimited + 400 text plan. $34.99 includes unlimited text. The WiFi plan (Hotspots@home) allows unlimited minutes over UMA at home or at any T-Mobile Hotspot. If you get rid of that you can still call and surf via WiFi on open networks, just uses normal minutes.

***If you drop data you loose BB email and BB Messenger*** just want to make sure you know that. As stated above H@H plan lets you use the T-Mobile hotspots unlimited, also gets you unlimited minuted over any WiFi.

If I have the $24.99 unlimited data/400 message plan, do push e-mails count towards the 400 messages? The T-Mobile site says something like "send/receive 400 sms, mms, and PERSONAL E-MAILS..." The CS Rep I spoke to was not sure about this. I am also curious if I can use the internet with wi-fi if I were to drop the data plan. Thanks in advance.

Forgot to ask if BB Messenger is also included in 400 messages or if that is unlimited with the $24.99 plan.

You dont need a wifi plan to get unlimited minutes over UMA calling. The Hotspot plan from T-Mobile just allows you to use T-mobile hotspots at like t-mobile stores and starbucks.
