| | Blackberry Feature Enable removed
Hi,
Woke up this weekend and noticed the BB feature enable was removed from my 5 years old plan. I used to be able to do and run a lot of applications when working on wifi. However, this is no longer the case a the feature was removed and i am starting to experience data related issues.
any help in what to do or to say to try to bring the BB enable feature back one more time

Whoa, it sounds like it is gone for good. If you took it off and then wanted it back, you may have gotten it back, but it sounds like T-Mo is getting rid of it for good if they are going into user's accounts and actually removing it...
I guess it's time to do without or get a data plan.

Putting my personal feelings aside, I would at least call and ask why it was removed. Generally a feature cannot be forcibly removed unless you change something else and it becomes incompatible.

It just seems really unfair that they would forcibly remove this feature from people's accounts. Aren't they supposed to be grandfathered in? It's not like T-Mo is losing tons of money, because when the person wants to upgrade to a new BB in the future, they would need to get a data plan.

I called Costumer Service and complained about the removal of the BB Enabler Feature. I pointed out that my IM applications stop working when the feature was removed plus started to experience problems with MMS. The T-mobile tech was able to fix my MMS but not the IM. She elevated my case to her supervisor who although initially declined, ended adding the feature one more time to my plan. A minute later I received a free T-mobile text letting me know that there were changes in my account and 24hrs later I was able to see the feature one more time listed under "my T-mobile" website. IM is working again.
Call costumer service and complaint. The feature can be re-installed on your account if you ask for it.
Good luck, oibm |

Called Tmobile, talked for an hour, went around in circles for an additional 20 minutes. Supervisor was very adamant about not adding the feature back. Now I'm on hold because she's looking for the contact number/email for customer relations -10mins so far... Dont they have this stuff on hand?
I've got to say tmobile has never given me a problem but today customer service is no where near up to their regular standards.

I'm sorry you're having trouble. They were wrong to take it off without your permission, that's all I have to say.

That feature has been grandfathered by the system, and removed company wide. I recently had to deal with this issue several times and even sups are no longer able to re-add it to the account because the system will not recognize it. Sorry guys.

I know that it's grandfathered but why was it removed from everyone? I'm on a "grandfathered" plan and I don't have that removed...

the only department that can re-activate it is RETENTION. second time i got it added to my account after IMs stopped working, but this time the IM clients didn't work. after speaking with an agent, i was able to get AIM to work. NONE of the other IM clients worked but she insists that she didn't do anything on her side. called back a bunch of times, but they said they can't do anything and technically my AIM isn't even supposed to work.
I think she secretly shot the AIM service book to shut me up...

If you still have it on your plan somehow, consider it an error in your favor. Quote:

~Jake H: You have a BlackBerry 8900 is this correct?
IFaRtEd: yes
~Jake H: The BlackBerry 8900 was released in 2009 and according to the information of the feature you are looking to add it states: Do not add this to the Curve 8320, 8820, or any BlackBerry handhelds launching after January 2008. All BlackBerry handhelds launching after January 2008 have built-in access to t-zones and MMS.
