BIS In Brazil?
Ok so I'm on T-Mobile PAYG (UK) and I have around a month of BIS left. I'm going to Brazil for 2 weeks to visit my uncle in a few days and was wondering if I'd still be able to use it over there.
If not would I be able to buy a SIM card there and purchase a Blackberry booster on it? My phone is unlocked to any network too.
Any help would be appreciated.

It would be roaming probably, which would cost a ton.
It's easier/cheaper if you just purchase a SIM from a pre-paid carrier down there.Perhaps life is just that...a dream and a fear. - 07-01-2012, 03:11 PM

is it possible to just disable my network and use my uncles WiFi to use the bbm?

I suggest you PM a user named diegonei. He's very helpful, informative and Brazilian so he could answer your question about local prepaid/PAYG options. Regarding using your native UK data in UK, CBB is spot on about roaming.
BBM needs an active data plan to work. Only then you can use it on WiFi. - 07-09-2012, 04:44 PM #5
Who summoned me here?!? Thou shall pay for .. oh question about Brasil!
Your options are:
- using BBM over WiFi by disabling not data, but the carrier network (Manage Connections > Moble Network). If you disable data, WiFi also goes dead;
- buying a TIM/Claro chip (R$10) and topping another R$12 (for a total £7) and BBM from the local carrier network.
You picked a bad time to visit... It's kinda rainy around here mostly... - 07-11-2012, 08:28 AM
