There's a couple GPS apps w/ voice turn-by-turn, but they are not free. TMO doesn't have a GPS app specifically that they support like VZW does. Some of these GPS apps have a free trial period.

Here are some recommendations:

1. Garmin - has a free trial period, I think the cost is $99 (or $79 if you sign up in BB Owners Lounge and get it from there). Heard some good things about this one, works pretty well, and it's a one time charge...for life!

2. Google Maps - doesn't have voice turn-by-turn but it's free and works well. I would call this a "Super App" because it is very well integrated w/ the phone.

Like Ichthus said, T-Mobile does not offer a navigation service. Bonus for you because I don't think T-Mobile blocks the on-board GPS in any of their phones. As for "Best GPS App", it is probably the most-discussed topic in the GPS forum. Below is a post linking to all the frequently discussed GPS topics:

Now lets clarify, some say for life and some are saying it is only for the life of the device. Make sure you clarify that with Garmin prior to purchase. With all of that said I hear rave reviews about TeleNav.

I use blackberry maps and google maps, both of them work great and both of them are free. Although I prefer google maps because of the satellite view.

BB Maps works without data. Google Maps is my choice because the maps are constantly being updated, plus it does traffic and business listings on the fly.

If Google ever released the version of Google Maps the MyTouch/G1 has for BB, it would be a hands down winner for everyone. I don't know that the BB hardware could handle it though, at least not currently
