Talking Benefits of Buying Phone Online?

As I review the various forum posts, I note that many of you buy your phones online. I live in Orlando, and there are several T-Mo stores in the area, as well as the rip-off kiosks in the malls (Don't EVER shop TMo at the Florida Mall!!). Anyhow, I'm wondering, is there an advantage to shopping online, as opposed to a TMo store?

My thought is that it'd be better to have a Techie to speak to face to face, before, during, and after the sale, than to rely on email back and forth.

What say you?

I would recommend buying at a corporate retail store. In the slight chance something is defective with the phone or you're just unhappy with it within 14 days you can return to the store as opposed to having to ship it back

You usually get WEB ONLY discounts on phones if you buy online. They also have the $35 activation fee waived if you purchase online at times.

In my completely biased opinion, buy at a retail store if possible. This gives you an actual person to build a working relationship with.

I personally believe that Costco is the best place to buy a phone if you want an 2 year contract, their refund policies are amazing but their phone selection may not be the best.

If you want no contract, go to Craig's List or Ebay.

Rules for Ebay = Check feedback, make SURE it's valid.

Rules for Craig's List = Buy face to face cash ONLY and it's best to meet at the carrier's store and have the ESN checked.

I like to buy online to get the discounts. Also, there are no t-mobile stores in the area where I attend school, so it's just easier.
