Default bbm troubles

got a bb curve 8520 the other day first one for me so im still new but i have friends with bb anyways, my issue is i cant connect with any of my friends i have their pin and i have pic'd their bar code and i still cant befriend anyone not sure whats up but if you could help that would be great

Do you have a data package on your phone? and do they have them on their phones?

hey mj thanks for replying i am fairly certain i have a unlimited data pack on my plan i did on my old phone so i would assume i still have it old phone was a samsung behold

If your old phone is not a smartphone, then it will probably have the basic "Mobile internet" which isn't the same for smartphones, much less for blackberries. You need to make sure you have a Blackberry data plan.
