Default ATT got shot down?

I heard last night from a friend who works for TMO that the FCC found a glitch in ATT's plan and may turn down the merger. Anyone else heard this/have info on it?

A glitch?
The FCC will take up to six months to review the proposed merger. They started last week. I doubt they've found ANYTHING yet.

Actually in a high profile case like this one it wouldn't surprise me to hear that there are problems identified already.

In some ways the AT&T deal should be a non-starter given the history of the organization.

olliegrl, thanks for letting my day end on a high note, even if it's not true it's still nice to wind up my day with a nice thought to dwell on.

One glitch may not mean anything. We need more like 27 glitches for this merger to be denied.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear about some snags being hit. No clue if the deal is going to go through or not.

The deal will almost certainally go through, the only question will be how much does ATT have to give up to get it.

I think it's way too early for this to happen. I doubt the government has read through the papers if they even have them yet.

haha! yeah i'm not saying it's gospel or anything...just what she heard so she was passing it along. i'm still secretly holding out hope that ATT will lose interest and say "April fool's!"

i'm on att and hope this deal goes through. not sure why t-mo users believe t-mo will survive w/o att or by going to sprint.

everyone loves the cheap plans, but that's the main reason they're falling.

Meh.. AT&T will just buy their way into this merger if it doesn't go as they hope right out of the gates anyway.. History dictates this.. Remember, the FCC basically let AT&T sell.. Then buy themselves back from themselves with the whole Cingular mess. If the FCC puts up a fuss, boom.. AT&T will just divest some markets, please the FCC and then buy those divested markets back after approval. Anyone who knows the specifics behind all their previous dealings knows this is exactly how it'll play out again.
