Default Apps that work with tmobile's $9 data plan

hey guys,

I have a unlocked Blackberry Tour that i am currently using on T-mobiles Service. I REALLY don't want to spend the $30 for the BB plan so i am trying the $9 data plan to see what i can get to work. I went to the T-mobile store and i was told that there are certain apps that will work, and some that won't, and that it was going to be a trial and error type of thing. Does anyone know what i can use? I'm sure i'm not the only one, or the first one to try something like this.

Imput?

A lot of 3rd party apps should work.

Rule of thumb: check to see if the app needs BIS or BES. If it needs it, it won't work. Lots of apps will run over tcp/ip.

You're not going to get any of the push e-mail, either. Just cut down on your fast food eating & the $30 plan is affordable.

yup...you won't get BIS services, aka push email, BBM, apps that use BIS, etc.

I'm on web2go and I use SocialScope, Opera Mini, Gmail, BeejiveIM, Pingchat, Google Mobile, Google Maps, App World, and Bolt over TCP and web2go. Without any issues. Facebook 1.6.22 will work without BIS, too. You just have to try and see what works and what doesn't. Foursquare also works.

There are a ton more, those are just the ones I use. It's all trial and error. I've tested probably a hundred more, fifty that work, fifty that don't.

There will be a new $10/15 200MB plan with BIS if you need it coming out soon. However the $10 unlimited plan will go into grandfathered status
