anyone using the new unlocked(from apple) iphone4s on tmo
I made another post in a different forum asking about which I should use but I was wondering if anyone on here has had any luck with the iPhone 4s purchased from apple itself unlocked and the 3g network on too?
i found this article which is why I am asking Unlocked iPhone 4S now working in some T-Mobile network pockets | iPhone Atlas - CNET Reviews
after reading some of the posts here I think I am more worried about more broken devices from blackberry then a slow phonePin: 2732999B - 05-10-2012, 01:42 AM #2
I am using a Factory Unlocked iPhone 4S on T-Mobile. No, I don't see 3G speeds, only EDGE. However, I am not in any of the areas that T-Mo has supposedly started using the 1,900MHz band.

were you able to fix the mms thing ? I am going to go with the iPhone even at the edge i think i will be much happier and I will also be buying the factory unlocked, did you get the 32g? I reading the pictures are much bigger now with the new camera I used to have a 3gs 16g when I had at&t but the camera was not as good as this one is.

You just have to manually put in the correct settings to get MMS to work. There are several sites that have them available. As far as getting only EDGE, I'm a little confused. I was always under the impression that even the 4S didn't work with T-Mobile's 3G network but when I was visiting a friend recently I kept getting 3G coverage instead of EDGE. I don't know what was up with that, but it did happen. I even have a screenshot of it.
I got the 16 GB. I don't need much more than that. I've barely used half of it anyway. - 06-15-2012, 10:05 AM #5
^As a condition of their failed merger, AT&T has transferred some 1900 MHz 3G spectrum to T-Mobile, and you must have been in one of those areas.
