I have called in - didn't go with the offer though. Some of the things I noticed:

Free after $50 rebate (however, TMO was also going to credit my account $50, so that's a wash).

Also offered free bluetooth headset and car charger.

The reason I didn't jump on it was because even though the fine print says "Rate Plan Terms: Requires month-to-month or 2 year agreement for Flexpay; Requires 2 year agreement and credit approval if not on Flexpay", they are not offering it on the month-to-month Flexpay plans (which makes sense, but since the wording was as it was, I had to call and check). I don't need to add another line - that's another data plan for 2 years...they more than make up for the difference in cost. Great deal if you're a new customer OR if you want to add a line.

For me, I wanted a phone I could use as the offer suggested - a development phone. One I could throw code on, try things out on, wipe, restart fresh...daily so I don't have to use my actual phone for this (us poor people can't afford 5 development phones plus our actual phone). So, I was hoping I could do a month to month deal use it as a cross platform development and testing phone, and then get rid of it down the road (of course, I knew they weren't going to do that going in, but it never hurts to call and ask).

Just called them.

Requirements for this deal:

Additional Phone Line $9.99
Data Plan: $25.00
2 Year Agreement

What you get:

Waived activation
Free bluetooth headset
$50 credit

If I did my math correctly, that is about $840 + taxes and fees for a phone I can get for $300. I told that to the poor rep and he agreed with me that this wasn't such a great deal. I feel bad for him and he ended up apologetic as if he was forced to sell this bad deal. I said I knew it wasn't his fault and bid him good day. I also mentioned to him about the 9700 and he was either completely clueless that the phone was coming out or acted completely clueless. I said its coming so get ready for the training haha.

Like the above poster said, if you are looking to signup another line or new service with TMO, this is the way to go.

I don't trust promotional ANYthing, unless it comes directly from T-Mobile. That includes Target/Walmart/The Shack/Best buy/etc. ... If something goes wrong, I want to know it went wrong from the actual source, not from a 3rd party that won't help me or know what to do later
