Default Anyone else having email troubles?

Last night, I experienced this insanely weird issue and ever since, my emails haven't been working. Not sure if it's device specific for me or if T-Mobile and BIS aren't working well right now.

Also, if you have any insight to my problem, please don't hesitate to help!

Here's the backstory:

I was playing around with the 9900 last night and installing some applications. One of the applications I installed required that I reboot the device, so I did. Once the phone restarted, I got an error message about some Java failure. I didn't write it down, because I didn't really think it would mean anything.

When the phone booted back up, I noticed that everything had been reset. All of my contacts were gone, all of my application data was erased, everything was gone. It was like a had a new phone. The only thing that remained were my SMS messages.

I figured something went horribly wrong and did a security wipe. Luckily, BlackBerry Protect had completed a backup several minutes before the problem happened, so most of my data was safe. Once the security wipe finished, I restored my back-up and everything worked fine, except my email accounts weren't put back into the device. So, I went into the setup menu and tried adding them back in manually. The app "Checked for email updates" and then "Connecting to email settings".

Once it hits "Connecting to email settings," it hangs until another error pops up "Your device has had a problem connecting to the server."

The funniest part of all this? I'm still getting emails every 5-6 hours, but I can't do anything with them.

I've tried resetting the phone completely, without doing any sort of restore. I reloaded BBOS7 entirely and there's still something wrong.

Is this a carrier issue or is it something that has to do with my phone? Most importantly, what do I do?

Default Anyone else having email troubles?

Same issue with email on my 9780. I tried to add a new work email account and it hangs and connecting. Double check my gfs 9780 and I am seeing the same issue on her phone.

Default Google Auth - BIS? And T-Mobile's links are wrong.

Two things to check:

1) Are you a Gmail user? If you have recently used Google's 2-step authentication features, you have to go to your BIS and enter a new app password. This can be generated in Google by going to your Account Settings (top right of screen, pull down your name) and clicking "Authorizing applications & sites". The generated password has to be entered as the mail sync password in BIS. (If you don't use 2-step auth, forget this part.)

2) If you are on T-Mobile, their usual link to get to BIS isn't working. You have to follow the instructions here:

Thanks. I had to re-add my email thought the TMO portal from your step number 2

1. log into tmobile page from https://www.t-mobile.com/
2. click on"MobileLife - email and text tools"
3. Then click email accounts and add them.

only problem is that my google calendar is not syncing but I can use the google sync app for that.

@ sectionsix, are you able to use Gmail-specific features now, like Stars, Labels, Archive, etc?? I am having the same issue, but I suddenly lost those features as well. Resending service books as per a TMo-RIM specialist did not help.
