    Default Another TMO Plan Q...

I am a long time TMO customer and I currently have a BB 8900, and will be ordering the Galaxy S II when available next week. I currently have the "unlimited loyalty" plan @ $50, message bundle @ $15 and BBIS @ $20. I will be using more data on Android and called TMO to see if I can get set up on new plan (I am off contract); I asked for the value plan (unlimited plus w/2GB data) @ $60/mo.

Although not mentioned on the TMO site, I need to pay full price for the phone in order to get the value plan? The phone will likely be over $500.

    Kind of lame IMO.

Is there any way I can keep my $50/mo. "unlimited loyalty" plan and bolt on data? I do not see any data only plans?

I'd like to think TMO would want to keep me happy, but I have a feeling they don't give a s*#t. Any insight appreciated.

I was on the loyalty plan too and switched. They would not let me mix features. If you go on the value you save $25 a month so that's $300 a year, $600 over 2 years so you'd still be ahead. Or you could go on the classic plan of 79.99 which saves you $5 a month... $120 over 2 years and still get the subsidized phone... Or if you know someone that you trust, go for the family value. 2 lines $100 per month and you'd save 420 a year, 840 over 2 years.... More than enough to buy the phone and still be ahead. You can buy the phone and put a down payment and then pay off the phone over the 24 month period and still pay less overall.

i ended up paying $400 for phone (full price w/discount) and a value plan; unlimited voice & text and 2G/mo. data for $50/mo. Good deal IMO.
