Default Android UMA?

I know this is a Blackberry forum but does anyone know of any New Android phones coming up that have UMA?

I'm keeping my Blackberry but looking into a second new phone. I HAVE to have UMA and won't consider anything without it since all my UMA calls are totally free for all the phones on my family plan....literally no fees or minutes.

Thanks

Haha, yeah I posted a question about this not too long ago.

From what I've heard, it *should* be coming. I'm going to wait.

Like you, I need UMA. I have unlimited minutes but cruddy coverage @ college so I need UMA to even just stay in touch! LOL

Yep, same boat...good thing I love my 9700!

I would like to explore back in to Andriod though if UMA comes to their phones...only way I will go back as I get crappy signal at my house....

Hence a lot of the reason I went back to BB, lol!

The only news that I've heard is that it is still in the testing phase. It was thought that the Vibrant or the MyTouchHD would have UMA or UMA-lite, but that fell through. Still holding out hope that the next Sidekick may have UMA as this is rumored to be an Android device.

Not big on the mytouch as I had a mytouch3G before my 9700 for a short while and even the slide I didn't care for...like the Vibrant, but really need a physical keyboard...hopeful that a Torch like or D2 type phone comes to TMobile with UMA...granted the D2 KB isn't as good as BB.

So you're talking about the G2 then.

What exactly is "UMA-Lite"?

I've heard that it allows voice but not text messages...that sounds weird. The other thing I heard is that it basically UMA but without the "hand-offs" between the wireless router and the cell tower.

So which is it?

I swear, if the G2 has UMA, I'll be all on that thing like white on rice.
