Default AIM- counts as Data or Messaging?

Hey, I just bought a Curve 8320 and so far, i'm addicted to my berry!

However, I have the 24.99 plan with 400 messages a month and unlimited data. I'm thinking about downgrading to 14.99 for unlimited texting. Does anyone know if the blackberry AIM client is data or message? Also, IF i downgrade to the unlimited texting, will I still be able to use AIM? & what about E-mail?

Blackberry messenger and most other IM applications use data...

actually keep that plan and you can use aim to "aim" your friends thru texting. all you have to do is put their cell phone number and it will "text" the other party. it wont count against your 400 since it will be using data.

AIM uses data, not text.

Blackberry mail is always data.

If you have unlimited data, the only things the messages will go toward are MMS and SMS. Nothing else.

The only time IM will use texts is if you don't have a data plan and you have the BB feature enabler.
