Default Adding a line help... tmobile rep perhaps?

Currently I have a family plan with 1000 minutes. two lines...

I went to a local tmobile store around my location to add another line onto the family plan for 9.99 and they told me that the line will have to go under a 2 year contract? Are they wrong?

Because i thought you can add a line without a contract if you don't plan on getting a new phone ( I have an extra one).

I'm not a rep but I do believe they are wrong. If you have your own phone you don't have to sign a contract...those are only if you are getting a new phone though them.

I would call Tmobile up and ask them about it. Chances are the store you went to the guy either didn't know, or just wanted to try to sell you something. Get a rep on the phone and I'm sure they would be happy to add a line for you with no contract if you have the phone.

Actually if you have a spare phone....the rate plan alone still requires a one year contract....so if you have them set you up with the phone you already have the new line will go under a one year contract. im actually a tmobile customer service rep and there will also be a 35 dollar activation fee...

This sounds like a good idea. Especially if you mention you're a loyal customer too...
