Not sure if anyone has done this but you would be missing Tmobiles 3G feature more than likely. The frequency is different. ATT is 850/1900 and Tmobile is 1700

You are correct. The hardware is built SPECIFICALLY for ATT. The radio bands are different on T-Mo thus an unlocked 9800 WILL NOT work on T-Mo's 3G network.

You'll be able to get EDGE speeds on the unlocked torch but that's it. If you're fine with that, then go for it.

There are many unlocked ATT berries which work fine on the tmo network so I don't see why the Torch would be any different.

Well, if you must have one it'll work. 3G browsing was so embarrassingly slow with the new browser I really don't see the benefit of using it.

I am using an ATT phone on TMO also and all worked great until yesterday when I can't get my BIS to connect. However, it seems that multitudes of ATT users are having the exact same issue so I can't blame it on TMO. I wish I could determine if it was a software or hardware issue so I could make a decision on whether or not to go swap the handset.

Im using torch unlocked and it great pretty fast for being EDGE i don't really need 3G. Im also running UMA instead of wi-fi. There are really good links to go to help u enable everythimg. But ya thought id share the info. Torch=great phone.

I'm with T-Mobile and bought the Torch today. I've unlocked it but it didn't come with a sim card and the T-Mobile one isn't working. What did I do wrong?
