As the poster stated above, if you purchase any phone from T-Mobile the warranty period will last 1 year.
The warranty will only be in account to the sim card/account that first uses the device.

-Luis | Not true, the warranty applies even if you aren't the original purchaser of the phone, however you still must be a tmo account holder.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | I have two accounts and the requirements are different deppending on the state you live in. California seems to be more forgiving and will alllow you to ad insurance upto 30 days. my curve I purchased in washington has a 14 day return policy while california is 30 day. both have a one yr manufacture warranty and then of course we have the 3rd party insurance. The washington phone is to be returned to a tmo store, while california is via mail.
So to point to a post and say "not true" is not true. you must know the tmo policy for that state

Insurance i think is about 5 dollars a month? However, if something happens to a phone there is a deductable. I am not sure on the amount, but i would imagine it would be somewhere around 100 dollars +/-

5.99 a month for insurance. Deductables range in price based on the phone

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | here in Cincinnati Ohio, it's 14days with in receiving the device. or if you upgrade they'll automatically kick it over to the new device upon registering it with the net work.

In most states, you have 14 day to add the insurance, not 30. When you buy the PHP bundle for 5.99 a month, you get coverage on the phone if you drop it, lose it, theft, or if the device had water damage. Also, you have a lifetime warranty for manufacturer defects for as long as you have the phone. If you have to claim the insurance on the phone (8900) it will cost you a 130 dollar deductible and T-Mobile will over night you a brand new phone.

Its a good idea to add the insurance because 1 year warranty is extended, but I'm not sure how long. So if something goes wrong after the first year, you can get a refurb replacement without a deductible

Insurance is a good idea because the regular warranty won't cover water damage or accidental stuff. There are so many mistakes that you could make with your phone so it just makes sense to get insurance if you're especially klutzy (like I am)
