Default From 8900 to HD2 to 9700

I've been on the Tmo network since 06'. Since then using BB (06' i turned 18, and the pearl was my 1st phone) since then I been hooked on BB and always loved Tmo. Upgraded the pearl to the 8320 and stayed with that for years til the 8900 came out and purchased the phone cash. I've been having an upgrade available since dec 09 and decided not to use it cause of the soon to release HD2. . . FINALLY purchased it 2day (release date) around 11am. Played with the phone, customized it, etc etc. to my liking. 4pm roles around and I am back at my tmo store, returning this phone to get a 9700. . damn sure missed my BB in that 3 hour

Once you go bb you can't go back. I was considering getting the hd2 but decided that there's nothing better then a bb. Eyes strayed for a bit but your heart will always be with blackberry. Lol

having a Berry and then switching to another device is a real problem sometimes, Im so used to the UI, that Ive become spoiled and having another device doesnt cut it for me. To me Berries are the most user friendly devices made.

HD2 destroys the 9700 in many ways. 9700 is a better handset overall though.

I'm having the same problem with Nexus One and Bold 9700. I've been using BlackBerry phones for years. Switched a few times to other phones but went right back to BlackBerry. Now I have a Nexus One and I can't go a few hours without going back to Bold 9700. I'm keeping Nexus One until I can find someone to buy it, I shouldn't have paid that much for it.

I tried it yesterday in store. There are pros and cons and so depending on what fit you the best, but my choice remains BB. I just want to try something different to use when I am overseas and to catch up with these new droids, WinMobile, etc.

I am going to pass purely becasue its size and keep using 9700 and N900 for now. It is very nice phone though. Also, it will not support WinMobile 7, but perhaps someguy will make that happen...when the time is right - hacking away

I did the same thing. Luckily, I was in my remorse period still. I returned my Nexus. The device has great features. Don't get me wrong. The familiarity, keyboard, and flawlessness that I have with my 9700 made me realize what I appreciated more in a phone. Plus the 530 bucks I shelled out looks better in my bank account. On another note, the N1 was too big in my pocket. If I were to get another android device I'd probably just get a myTouch. Small, android, and a great overall device. For now, I'll stick with my Bold.

I agree. On paper I like WM better than most other smartphones, but implementation is another story.

HTC makes really good products so on paper, HD2 looks awesome. Trouble is, WinMo 6.5 is a joke.

You very rarely notice that its windows mobile after all the initial set up. The sense UI masks it almost completely from a user perspective and the HD2 has strong enough hardware to compensate for any windows mobile features which have lacked in the past.

I played with a sprint HD2 for about 30 min yesterday, and while the skin does help, there is still a noticeable amount of lag. I really wanted to like it since I want a WM phone to replace my iden boostberry, but in the end, for that much money i figured it would just frustrate me.

Default Upgraded to htc hd2, then returned it!

I have been using a blackberry since 2005. I recently got a second line and got a HTC HD2 for 200 bucks with 2 2 year agreement, to see how it was, and was planning to drop one of the lines and either keep my blackberry or the new HD2, I decided on the blackberry. (SIDE NOTE = I also have a windows mobile device that is not a phone, just for contacts and callender for over 9 years)

I am a small business owner and get about 20-30 emails a day. By the time I sent out 3 emails on the HD2, I could have sent out 10 emails on my blackberry. Also in the Outlook contacts program - I had a difficult time cut and pasting things, It was very hard to highlight things. Plus typing was slower and I had to watch exactly every letter I pushed. Plus because the screen was so large, the battery would never last a whole day. Plus the mail would take longer to get to me. Plus downloading a PDF file - 3 pages, took a very long long time, like 4 or 5 minuites... But on my blackberry downloading attachments takes only a few seconds. Plus there were many many other quirks I did not like. For instance I cannot have unlimited international emails. Plus when I was in the contacts and I wanted to view the notes. the notes button is right next to the "call button" Sometimes I accidentally would call a contact in the middile of the night when I was updating some notes for the days activity for that customer.

Time is money, and I returned the HD2 to Tmobile in the Plymouth meeting mall in Pennsylvania Today.

One program I did really like that I found on the windows mobile device was an aftermarket program called WMWIFI router. It made the phone a hotspot and it broadcasted the 3G internet, just like a router, and you could log in with a WEP key. I am satified with teathering on my blackberry to my netbook If I need to compose something on a laptop.

I prefer to have a blackberry and a seperate windows mobile device that is not a phone. You probally asking why? I have over 1600 contacts, and the outlook contacts program on windows mobile allows me to view all the custom catagories that contact is in. Each contact has multiple catagories. Plus I like to have 2 seperate devices. You just cannot beat blackberry for emails.

If I am driving and sending emails its much easier on a blackberry. Plus the email setup on the HD2 was awkward, there is not a button to view all of the emails, and they are not arranged by date like a blackberry.

Plus after thinking about it. What if I did switch to Windows mobile....in novemer, december, the whole OS is going to change, and everything I like will be different.

Now I just need to upgrade to a 9700 and I will be set..
