Default 3G+ from T-Mobile is here

Live in suburb of Boston and the new high speed 3G+ or whatever name they call it is in my neighborhood and it is great. I never new it but after talking with a T-Mobile tech I was informed a tower was only about 1/10th of a mile from my house. I could hit it with a rock, (no kidding). My 9700 is so fast it is rediculous. Thank you T-Mobile. When this service comes to your area you will be thrilled. It must have been yesterday mid afternoon I noticed a huge difference in my speed. I had some crazy movement with my signal for about 20 minutes and then nothing but high speed juice. YE HA. I love T-Mobile.

I thought our phones wont support this? I never really followed this so I could be totally wrong. B/c after reading tmobiles site it says many existing phones will support the upgrade... hmmmm... This is good news if its true!

The 9700 doesn't support the newest HSPA network. The OP probably just was lucky to have a tower thrown up close to him

I know the 9700 max speeds are less than HSPA+ but is it not likely that the 9700 is more likely to hit it's max speed regularly on a faster network than one that is at best the best the 9700 can attain? Does that make sense?

9700 doesn't support HSPA+ but you will see a bit of a bump in speeds when there is HSPA+ in your area so it's not a loss or anything.

I wish I got 3G in my area. Just on EDGE right now.

Live in Waltham and always had a tower near me. You can not imagine a boost in that kind of speed. Instead of going into a web page it just bang you are in. Live right off Rt. 20 and I knew they were working on my area. Whatever the reason is I'm just very happy.
PS Downloaded new Appworld now I can not get an icon to show up on my homepage. Great new update, really took all the bugs out.

I have a MyTouch being delivered Tuesday, so I'll do some tests with an HSPA+ capable phone. HSPA+ is here and I would like to try it on a tethered connection. I had a chance to try out the new WebConnect Rocket and it hauls. I hope the device has similar results.

The phones are always going to be slower, the webConnect Rocket is the fastest device on T-Mobile. Is it just the Slide (7.2HSPA) or is it really an HSPA+ myTouch?

I've seen some nice peaks with my CLIQ, but areas that don't have HSPA+ are unbearably slow during most of the day(we're talking .04Mbps on 3G). Lots of the valley is still awaiting HSPA+/3G+ but it does appear to be coming to the entire 3G network and not just some or most of the network like the actual 3G launch.

I've been getting 3G for some time. How can I tell whether I am getting 3G+? Any icon or signal name difference? Home is Cambridge, Rockport, and Boston.
When I do a network search it shows TMo with "3 and H." No pluses shown.

Your device does not support HSPA+. You may see a boost in overall speed due to the freeing up of bandwidth for 3G devices.
