Depending on how old your 3G signal is in can take up to 60 days to get all of the bugs worked out of the system. it might just be a fluke. I notice that from time to time but that is only when i tether my BB to my Netbook, and answer the phone with my BT head set.... but the .405 update seemed to fixed it.

it might the OS you are reading. Some OS will fix that problem up. The radio code in the OS might fix up the problem like what mjneid stated.

This sounds like a network issue, either overloaded (not enough capacity) on your favorite tower, weak signal, or there's a technical problem at the tower. That is more likely than a problem in your 9700 because thousands of other users would be reporting a similar issue with the phone.

I once had a similar problem in the days of GSM (only) where the call would always fade and drop after about 30 seconds - but only from one antenna of one sectored site. Walk around the other side of the mast and it would work fine, back to the fault side and it dropped in seconds. That was fun, talking to the tech guys at O2 and helping them troubleshoot.

You should be able to test this yourself and narrow the search. Take the phone somewhere else (several miles away to a different set of towers) and see if the problem still appears.

Hmmm... IIRC the 3G signal should be about 6 microseconds old per mile distant from the tower.

Same issue in Atlanta, GA. After placing a call it stays on 3G up until the status of the call goes from Calling to Connected. Once it goes to connected, 3G goes straight to GPRS. I am running .423. I dont remember noticing this problem at Columbus, GA which also has 3G.

No, what i am getting is this, when T-Mobile released the 3G signal here in Cincinnati, Ohio i notice that the Call quality went through the roof but the Data Speeds weren't that much faster, so talked to a good friend of mine who is a higher up for t-mobile and he said that it can take up to 60 days for all of the bugs to get worked out of the system. And with them releasing HSPA plus and doing alot of testing for it, it might be a fluke that the signal is losing bandwidth quickly....

I have had my phone since its release. I am in the Miami, FL area and I am having the same problem as well. I recently purchased my girlfriend a 9700 as well on t-mobile and she's having the same issue. T-Mobile has replaced my SIM card in an attempt to fix the issue and it hasn't. I received another 9700 today from t-mobile in hopes to remedy the issue and this handset does the same thing. I guess I'm kinda glad to hear its not just me that's experiencing this issue. T-Moblie made me feel like I was the only person with this issue....

Same issue here, T-Mobile said it was my phone and sent me a replacement and I still have the same problem. One of the many CSR's I spoke with said it is a none problem and they were told to tell customers to do a daily battery pull....nuts huh!!
