What's next for AT&T?
Is AT&T going to be going 4G, LTE, or WiMax?

LTE and WiMax are 4G tech. AT&T is on the LTE bandwagon.

Will the frequencies that AT&T use be the same that VZW uses? I'm just wondering if my phones will work on VZW in the future.

LTE is basically broadband for cellular devices. A successor to CDMA2K and 3G. Peak 100Mbps down, 50Mbps up, 10 ping. AT&T and VZW are working on it, but there's no official information beyond "next year" at the consumer level.
So if your current 2G or 3G phone is working alright, hold off upgrading under contract until something hits the market in about 15 months or so.
Of course, knowing how system-wide infrastructure upgrades go, wait until 2013. - 05-09-2010, 12:43 PM #8I've sipped many different Kool-Aid's...
