Upgrade/iPhone question
Hi,
I would like to add a line to my acct to get the new iPhone, then let my daughter have the old line. BUT, she is not responsible enough to have my old 3gs iPhone-- she already broke the iTouch she got for Christmas! Can I take the SIM from the 3gs and drop it into her Go Phone and drop the data from that line? She only needs voice and messaging.
Thanks! - 06-14-2010, 08:17 PM #2
If you bought that iPhone at a reduced price with an upgrade you are locked into the contract for two years. And even if you added a line to get the 4G, then they would require you to keep data on that one for two years also. Sorry to say I dont see a good solution. Call customer service and ask them, they may let you opt out of your current data for a reduced fee.

Buh...
Yes, you can activate a new line, and do the SIM card shuffle. Just be sure to have another GSM phone available to set your daughter up with a working phone.
I recommend having customer care handle this, for reasons I cannot state.
And remember, Asurion now covers the iPhones.
