Default Replacing Trackball at Device Support Centers

My phone is now 1.5 years old and I don't have insurance on it and the warranty has expired.

How much does it cost to replace my trackball there?

I'm debating on doing it myself as I'm holding out hope a new phone comes out soon.

I'm not sure about AT&T, but I used to take my Curve and Tour into the Sprint repair shop every few months for a nice clean trackball and they have never charged me anything.

I'd check with the AT&T retail store in your area, alot of carriers are offering trackball replacements for free... if you wanted to purchase one they're range from $7.99-$9.99

It doesn't matter how long you had the phone. The DSC's will replace them for free as long as you currently still have att however. We only have the trackballs for the 81xx series phones. I know at my DSC we exchange the bold trackballs doing a little trick we know. The 9000 track is the same exact ball as the previous gens.

Well, I tried the one in Little Rock and they told me they don't work on any blackberries.

I've got an upgrade and can't wait to use it. Hopefully on the 9800, possibly the iPhone 4.

The trackballs for every BB since the Pearl are the exact same item.

To replace a trackball in any BB that doesn't have the silver cowl around the ball, you have to gut the phone from the back to the front. Only takes a case opener tool and a torx driver. T5? T6? I forget.

Use Youtube videos to see how it's done. It's not difficult or risky.
