    Default Prepaid BIS Service

    Hi,
I'm coming to the USA for a bit.

I'd like to have bbm functionality in the USA, but roaming charges are very expensive.

Is there any network in the US that offers BIS service on a prepaid? Like getting BIS for 30 days for a set fee?

Oh, btw, my phone is a GSM phone.

    Thanks in advance!

AT&T does not offer any prepaid BIS plans.

You might want to check T-Mobile. FlexPay(SM) Rate Plan FAQs

Yep. TMobile is the only GSM option currently for prepaid BlackBerry Data in the US.

In addition to the plan linked above, you might also look at the Even More Plus Plans. They include BlackBerry Data. I believe that they start at $60 US per month.

Besides the older posts, are there any new options?

Can someone let me know what are the options for a short term (one month) service which will allow me to use my BBM on a pay as you go provider?

    No new options.

Contact TMobile. They are the only option for prepaid GSM carriers offering BlackBerry Data.

If you have friends in the US, ask if one would be willing to add a no-contract line for you for a little while. Just keep in mind that you'd need to release your PIN and IMEI from your existing carrier's BIS account for that BlackBerry to receive email while you're in the US with an American carrier's SIM in the phone.
