How long does it take for AT&T to test OS upgrades and release?
I have a Bold and this is the first BB device I have owned. I see that there are several versions of OS upgrades out there by different carriers and was wondering what AT&T's policy was on releasing them?
Appreciate any insight you can provide on this.
I was trying to decide if I should try using another carrier's release (not a beta) or if I should wait for AT&T. I wasn't sure what features may not work using a different carrier's release. - 11-13-2008, 12:06 AM #2
Att doesn't have a specific policy on releasing different OS updates but if there is a significant glitch in some OS or they feel that an updateded OS will make a product better then they will release it.
I wouldn't suggest trying an OS update on your Bold just because there is no reason to. If you think that your Bold is performing in a glitchy way then try to find more info on why isthe glitch occuring. Don't be so quick to do an upgrade it doesn't fix everything.
Note: ATT only supports OS upgrades released by ATT. Install a beta at your own risk.

When AT&T does release new OS, do they send a notification or do I need to keep checking the site?
