Nope, you could get talk/txt on your Blackberry via prepaid, but no Blackberry data.
If you want prepaid BB data, T-Mobile has some good prepaid plans (no contract) for BB and other smartphones. And since they're GSM too, you can just unlock and go.

No prepaid data from att but T-Mobile has a Pre-paid data plan with their Pre paid.. they are both GSM so it's not a problem with Blackberry unlocking to use any of them.

Yes. There is a problem.
T-mobile uses different 3G frequencies, so unless you have a tmo (or canadian Wind) phone, you will Not get 3G with T-mobile
Last year I traveled a lot and had a tmo sim card to save on roaming fees (I'm from canada with Bell), and while it was nice to save the money, being stuck on 2G/edge service was very painful... It was like going back to dialup after having highspeed internet on your computer
Not fun
