Deposit for sim-only?
I am thinking about switching to AT&T- I have terrible reception with Tmobile and would like to get real 3g speeds on my ATT branded BB's. I don't have an expansive credit history, and two years ago I tried to order a phone and service from ATT and was asked for a 200 deposit. If I am bringing my own phone to them and I just purshase a sim card, are deposits usually required for less than perfect credit or are they usually for just the handset purchase? (I don't want to go prepaid- I'm referring to a typical 2 year contract.)

Your credit rating has everything to do with whether or not you will need a deposit to start service, or add additional lines, especially if you've already got an outstanding debt with AT&T, Cingular, or any other companies that have become part of AT&T.
