4884 KB data charge repeated more than 730 times over 7 day period. what now??
my sister texted me tonight asking me what was going on with the data on our family plan. i looked into it, and my line has over 3.5 GB of usage just 14 days into the billing period (i normally use between 300 MB and 500 MB a month). that was obviously a lot out of the ordinary, so i went on AT&T's website to look into it. to make a long story short, i found that i "used" 4884 KB of data +/- 734 times between 3:00am on 11/06 and 9:00pm 11/13.
(actually, i had [email protected] KB, [email protected] KB, [email protected] KB, [email protected] KB...but who's counting)
i called the wonderful AT&T customer service line and was told it was my apps, tethering, the moon phases, global warming, etc. they didn't think it was at all odd that my usage is 20 times what it has been over the past 24 months, and they thought it was perfectly normal to for me to be able to access the internet over 700 times in a 7-day period using the SAME EXACT amount of data every single time. but anyways.
after being talked to as if i was a 3-year old and repeated the same thing over and over and over again, i lost my temper and told them to have a supervisor call me back. but that's beyond this post. i'm now patiently waiting for the phone to ring.
my question is this - what would cause this? has anyone ran into it before?
