| | Write the FCC to stop the AT&T merger!
Everyone should write the FCC Commissioners to stop the AT&T merger with T-Mobil
the latest stunt AT&T is pulling with the Blackberry Playbook bridging is an example of the crap AT&T will be pulling if the merger continues.
Chairman Julius Genachowski: Julius.Genachowski@fcc.gov
Commissioner Michael J. Copps: Michael.Copps@fcc.gov
Commissioner Robert McDowell: Robert.McDowell@fcc.gov
Commissioner Mignon Clyburn: Mignon.Clyburn@fcc.gov |

Switch from AT&T? Ever hear of the free market? They have the right to limit their internet usage. You have the right to not support that and change service.

Yeah and if you stop the merger tmobile will die slowly anyways (until they are taken over by someone else) and AT&T will continue doing the same practices regardless.
This has no impact...

Free market - yeah. There are just so many options in the market. The FCC already regulates the cell phone market. It isn't "free" as you put it. I really don't think what ATT is doing is fair. I still don't understand how they can claim that uses data over bridge requires a seperate charge. They are just trying to milk the consumer for more money. If ATT is allowed to do this, then the others will follow. Why wouldn't they. Then, we get screwed again.

The free market is free as in... you have a choice. Don't tell me you're forced to buy AT&T. Vote with your money and support the companies that you like. That is way louder than any letter to the FCC, who are unable to change their minds just because of your complaints.

Let me guess, you're a liberal.
Don't just leave AT&T and give your hard earned money to someone else, lets get the government involved instead.
Pathetic.

I support the merger on the premise that it will help my signal in NY state. I don't care about anything else just what effects me and from what I understand tmobile has descent rural area coverage.

The funny thing is, if you're on AT&T or T-Mobile, you've likely already used the other's towers at some point and never noticed, unless you magically had no 3G connection for a while.

Deutsche Telekom does not have any interest in keeping a presence in the US, due to their losses. Selling their US operations is their choice.

Hey who knows, maybe after ATT buys them their service will improve...
Oh yea and if you don't like the tiered data plans, too bad. Eventually all the carriers will adopt them, its just a matter of time.
And about charging extra for using the playbook bridge: Sprint sells the samsung nexus and I heard they wanna start charging a monthly fee to use the hotspot feature. For the time being they don't, but policies can always suddenly change with little notice.

I don't support the merger and will probably switch from Sprint to T-mobile this summer after the new berries drop and get granfathered in. Once that contract is up, if it is A, I'll switch to something else. Number portability is great. I do think it is ridiculous that the government split both at&t and the bells (Verizon) up only to allow them to acquire their way back to being probably more powerful than before. I'll write in, but doubt it will do any good. If the merger doesn't go through at&t has to give t-mobile spectrum, cash, and preferred roaming agreements.

Being on AT&T, I'm all for it, if it gets us LTE, and the eventual real 4G - with LTE Advanced, that much sooner.
Around here, AT&T service is not that bad. T-Mobile is the one that isn't all that great.
