Yes, it will mean less dropped calls for AT&T customers since GSM carriers use the same EDGE/GPRS (most if not all current/recent phones are quad band GSM, that's why you can use a T-Mobile phone with an AT&T SIM and make calls) and voice bands.
I'm getting tired of people who have no clue what they're talking about and confusing 3G bands with voice bands to spread their negativity.
