Default Why is AT&T so bad in DC?

It just blows my mind that in one of the nations largest major metropolitan areas AT&T cannot provide decent coverage. The entire capital region gets terrible 3g and Edge and never in my life I have dropped so many calls or gotten so many ghost calls before. Whew just a vent session its a good thing im tired of my iphone anyway see ya later AT&T hello BB on Tmo

Not saying their coverage is stellar, but part of your problem may have been the iPhone. My bass player's 3G rarely has as good of a signal as my Bold.

T-Mobile is not going to be any better, Verizon is the one with the good network

I agree, I can't make any calls from my bold - WTF...

My buddy is having the same issue too on his. And I was dropping calls all day yesterday - my buddies iPhones work fine tho....

Any ideas on a possible fix? Could it be the firmware that I'm running that ATT later pulled??

Forgot to mention that texting, bbm, email, Slacker all work fine. I know the last 3 are Data, but doesn't texting go through standard voice usuage?

So preplexed, thought this would be all over the forums, totally ridiculous on ATT's part.....

Not to mention it DC right? Wasn't there an article about how att had a problem with bandwith because so many people are on the network. Between government workers, aides, lobbyists, lawyers, and senate pages, I'm sure they're using the heck out of bandwidth. Blame the government.

Yup, in DC. The reason I'm so frantic is that I run my own company and am essentially useless without my phone.

Think the TOMS shoe guy in that horrible commercial, except my phone doesn't work worldwide - much less in the f'ing nations capital...

Haven't been able to make or receive a single call since 12:30.

The Northeast has predominantly been Verizon territory

This press release was released 5 days ago:
AT&T- News Room

Does anyone know if AT&T is still working on the 850 overlay in D.C.? If so, that could be part of your problem, and they should be working on it hopefully)

Dont disagree I have heard they are pretty solid here but they screwed me both times I deployed haha they aren't too military friendly so I won't use them again.

However, I have a government issued 8700 on Tmobile and its coverage everywhere.

It was all the 850mhz overlay, my friend in DC walked into a AT&T store yesterday and the manager explained it was a upgrade why it was down.
