Hence all the confusion about them charging for a tethering plan. I had the unlimited plan about 5 years ago and had to let it go to have the tethering option as well, so this is nothing new.

If everyone is so fed up with AT&T about charging extra fees for tethering and such, why not drop them and go to another carrier?
The answer is simple, the other carriers charge for this feature as well.......

I for one have had a very good experience with AT&T and would never switch as IMO, they have the best equipment and service out there. I know what has been printed about their being rated #3 in customer satisfactions surveys and I know what people will say to this so don't bother...... Those surveys are a bunch of S#IT..... They are done by a bunch of petty people that mistook their phone service for Burger King and found out they can't have it their way. Why is it that everyone wants everything for free? I'll never understand that concept. If anyone thinks they could have a company and give away everything for free, wake up and smell the roses, the real world doesn't work that way....... Of course they have to charge you extra for some features or they simply wouldn't be in business any longer......

They have to change theire prices, data usage is more expensive with the faster speeds and building the network to handle it. More and more people have smart phones that us a lot of data, and since they're not all BlackBerry they don't have data compression.

Despite the fact that I agree with most of what was said you have to realize something. At the time the $30 unlim plan was offered there was also a $60 unlim tethering plan offered for blackberrys. If you maintained that plan you would be grandfathered and could tether for ever and ever, but nobody has that plan so really it's not at&ts fault (although I would love to be able to add a small tether plan on top of my unlimited, I really wouldn't mind paying extra for it, but I need the ability to remove it when I'm not gonna use it for 6 months).

So whoever really needs more than 5 gigs of data should have had the forsight to grab the 60 plan when at&t announced teirs.

Anyway, 9900/playbook on hspa+ with $30 unlim is still the best deal possible. I'll rock it till they kick me off.

I told ATT that I'm done with their , and am moving to Metro PCS. 60 bucks for unlimited everything sounds nice.
