AT&T to require smartphone data plans starting September 6th

Well firs the blackberry has a really nice keyboard for texting. My problem with this is a lot of people get a smart phone for texting because they have really nice keyboards. I looked at the dumbphones with QWETS keyboard on ATT and lets be frank those keyboards sucked.
Smartphone keyboards are a lot better.
Remember people do like to text message.

They are just saying that you have to have the data plan if you want to buy the discounted phone from AT&T. If you buy the phone off craigslist they won't make you add it.

I dunno how accurate that is. At least with VZW it doesn't matter where you get the phone it's based on model so if you got it from CL then good for you but you still pay the data package.

I'm not sure how accurate this information is, since I just got it from a manager from a local AT&T store, I asked him about if I had got the phone off ebay or something, he said that they can somehow tell what phone it is and tact on the data plan. I also asked him about buying an unsubsidized, and he said it's also will be added in that case. I'm not sure how accurate the information is since the other store employee I asked didn't know anything about it since it wasn't very detailed
