AT&T and Price Matching

Well heres a tidbit for you from my latest visit to an AT&T corp store.

I had an issue with my phone and while I was being helped I noticed an older gentleman next to me signing up for a USB modem and tethering. He was happy to hear the USB stick was free on 2 year contract but about fell over at being told his monthly bill for data would be $60.

He paused at signing his name to that amount of cash and was about to when I chipped in, "have you checked out Virgin Mobile?" I gave him the basic pricing and turned back to the desk to have 4 AT&T employees shooting me daggers. Upshot is they gave the guy a $10 per month pro rate on his contact to sign up, so price matching happens.

Just thought I would share with you guys as I felt good to get one over the death star for once!

hmm..good to know. although i remember telling them when i signed up for my iphone last fall that TMO was offering the same voice plan at a lower rate and all they said was "yep. they do that."

lol

so looks like he got lucky with that
