Default at&t and PlayBook

Att, as a long timr (over 10 years) customer, I am extremely dissappointed with the fact you BLOCKED BlackBerry Bridge on the PlayBook...this is crazy! The PlayBook is wifi only. Now I can't take advantage of having BBM on the playbook. Ridiculous. I should switch carriers but since you have a monopoly on the GSM market in my area I guess I'm stuck. Or am I? BOO and shame on you att.

I am also ver upset that AT&T has blocked the Bridge app for their customers. I have been with you for more than 10 years and this borders on insanity. The public response that you have given as to why the block makes no sense. Why is it every other carrier had time to test Bridge and ATT didn't? Is ATT like some air traffic controllers, falling asleep on the job? I see no reason to block bridge unless you are trying to find another way ro charge. Bridge allows pairing between bb phone and the Playbook. You can browse the web, but slower than browsing through the phone without the Playbook. Cmon att, don't continue in this nightmare stance. Continue it and you will see irate bb and playbook owners jump ship.

Has there been any update on the situation about allowing the Bridge to work with BB Playbook on AT&T. It works great on Verizon but my wife uses AT&T and needs this to work ASAP.

BBM on the ATT PlayBook works just fine. The only issue is a download of the Bridge file outside AppWorld. Information is here BBM up and running on the BlackBerry PlayBook | CrackBerry.com Been running on my PlayBook since day 2 or so. No issues at all.

A) The fact that we are still not "allowed" to download the bridge from AppWorld just because we are on AT&T is dumb. AT&T has had more than enough time to find a way to work with us on this.

B) It really doesn't matter though does it. There are a variety of places you can go outside of AppWorld to download the app. Show your disdain for the numbskulls at AT&T by simply getting the app elsewhere.

Default Can anyone help?

I'd like to start out by saying that I don't own a blackberry, or even a blackberry playbook, and so I have no experience with how they work. However, my boss (who has had AT&T and a blackberry for years) just bought the 64g playbook, without realizing he couldn't do the Bridge. I've spent the past two days trying to download the workarounds, to no avail. The best I can do is to get the OTA downloaded onto the phone, and then never find it again, except in Options->applications-> add ons, with no option to install it, actually. If anyone could help me figure this out, I would be deeply in your debt. I really don't want to have to tell my boss that his only option is to take it back or pay $30.00 a month to "fix" it.

Thank you!

If the icon does not appear you may have downloaded the wrong version of the Bridge App. You must insure the version you download is proper for both the phone (exact model) and the OS (the version of the operating system loaded on the phone). Then make sure the BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) is the latest version available. The icon should appear once the right version is loaded on the phone.

Lots of information about apps and OS changes is in #BlackBerry Help | CrackBerry.com For BB owners or others that is a fine source of basic information. Other questions return to the forums, search, and post leftover questions. There are enough people around here to help you should be able to get going at some point in time.

ATT is my carrier and my PB is a 64. The process was easy enough but I am not a BB novice. If you really cannot make this work PM me and I will get you an e-mail address or a BBM contact.

done deal and ATT still has bridge browser blocked, they and they alone require a tether plan if you want to browse the internet on tje playbook through your blackberry.

Not a rumor but official now. There is no reason anybody should put up with this, just leave att. Its cheaper to break your contract than pay $240/year for something that is free on every other carrier.

ATT, go (have sex with) yourself.
