If they don't care then when you can care about yourself - go ahead and switch a carrier.
and if you stuck with AT&T you can get the device from other carrier and unlock it for use with your At&t sim card until you switch to another carrier.

It's funny cuz I switched from TMO to ATT cuz I thought they would get the Dakota first and now they're the last ones and we have no clue when it's going to be.

AT&T doesn't tell its employees either, so pull that entitlement stick out of your posteriors. Besides, the last time a date was announced, it was November 20th. But of course, I only found this out by reading threads in this very forum.

It was posted by an individual known for having a high signal to noise ratio, and I confirmed a few dates from other sources. Now, whether those sources are correct or not remains to be seen, as release dates change with the wind, but whatever.

I must confess...this is truly a HUGE load of too little too late. Here's an opportunity to preempt and even trump the release of the iPhone 5 that is due to be announced in the next week or so, with rumors that 52% of current blackberry users are going to switch. I keep waiting and waiting and waiting for something to happen, for AT&T to step up to the plate, for RIM to stay current in terms of features, but it's as if they're in slow motion (sort of like my Torch!!).

By the time AT&T comes out with the new Bold, it'll be too late. I am anxious to try a phone like the new Bold, but what the heck are they waiting for?

Well, there goes that!

By now it's clear to me that this delayed release is _not_ by design; it's some technical problem, a supply chain problem, or a business negotiation problem.

In any case, it's a screwup on a major scale.

The 9900 and 9860 better be FLAWLESS hardware wise after all this! I have a hard time believing between all these phones that the slider was the one with no hardware issues. I'm starting to believe the conspiracy of them being held on purpose. Even though CX says that's dumb (I think he did?) this is a weird coincidence. We had a "leaked" BB roadmap that is pretty accurate so far. Is it a coincidence the Torch 9810 launched on time and for some unknown reason the roadmap shows the 9860 and 9900 held back to late Oct/Nov? I guess we'll see when those dates come to pass.

I for one would rather wait for them to make sure these devices get released with as minimal of issues as possible - take for instance the Verizon debacle with their 9850.. would you rather go through all those issues with a sub-par device than wait a bit longer for ATT to "hopefully" release a near-flawless device?

I'm really, really wanting this phone to be released, but not for the sake of being released w/o all the issues worked out, whatever those end up being.

besides, my contract isn't up till early December so I wouldn't be able to upgrade since then anyways.

CX just tweeted earlier today that the 9900 and the 9860 are slated for technical acceptance on 10/17. So assuming everything continues going well, that would put release 10/31 or first week of Nov.

Anyone know what the 9900 will be selling for? I have an upgrade available, but not sure I would want to pay 199.00 for it. Loved the price point on the 9810. Doubt we see anything close to that price for the 9900. Guess I can dream.
