The reason is simply because you post on /b/. Congratulations, you ruined it for everybody.

Well, you can always buy from Rogers. Or use RIM's trade-up program if you haven't destroyed your existing BlackBerry. You're not entitled to new stuff, you just want it.

I'm entitled to a new upgrade...and ATT should stop dragging their *** with BB releases or I'll just switch.

Oh, California.
Did you know that it's largely California's fault that you can't easily unlock a BlackBerry on AT&T? Yep. Before, unlock codes were given out like so much candy; now they're simply not available.

Anybody who knows would likely be fired for saying yes or no, and anybody you can actually talk to about it is intentionally kept out of the loop.

At&t will be carrying the 9900. It was announced along with the 9810 Torch 2 and 9860 as the line up on 4G BBs ATT was selling. As far as launch date, no one but higher up people working at ATT HQ know stuff like that. If you're too antsy to wait just buy one from RIM or where ever.
Its always hilarious how every year right before a new device comes out people are threatening to leave a carrier if it doesn't launch soon. God forbid a carrier thoroughly test a phone so that it doesn't crash or have issues. Maybe if RIM did a better job of having their shtuff together and drew more market share for devices in the US then launching BBs may actually be a bigger priority for a company with a majority of the most popular smartphones in the nation.

The 9810 had 0-day issues with BIS activation thanks to some RIM-originating nonsense. The phones refused to activate properly, and would acquire no service books. The current (as of early last week) workaround is to have an existing BlackBerry ID before using one, or creating one then wiping the phone.
Don't want THAT happening with the bold 3.
