Default Severely delayed outgoing texts and internet icon issue

I am a longtime AT&T customer using an unlocked Blackberry 9700 purchased secondhand from a trustworthy seller to replace my Blackberry 8520 that started bugging out on me for no apparent reason. Swapped the SIM card and went on my merry way. Also, I use CrunchSMS for the threaded SMS feature that wasn't originally available on Blackberries. I've kept using it because I like it. The only settings related to incoming messages on CrunchSMS are "Accept incoming MMS - yes" and "Automatically download incoming MMS - No".

For the past few weeks, I've been experiencing a problem with outgoing texts. I've talked to the people I've been texting, and they report that sometimes the texts come in fine and that other times they won't come in until several (as many as 12) hours later and occassionally not at all. Sometimes when there is a delay, if I've sent several messages, all of the messages will show up at once.

I don't know if this is a related issue or not, but the internet icon is not working, too. It will work once if I remove and re-insert the battery, but after that it goes completely unresponsive again. It acts as if it isn't even being clicked.

I hope that I have provided enough information.

Delayed messages: dedicate about 30 minutes to let AT&T know about it, and perhaps have technical support file a case.

Browser not working? Back up, wipe, reload, test, and if successful, reload data and reinstall applications. And the 9700 launched with threaded messaging.
