Returning an exchanged item?

So I want to return an exchanged item, this is how it went:

1. Bought Atrix full price
2. Exchanged it for a Torch, had to pay $35 fee
3. Want to return the Torch, get my $$$ back

Policy states that I may only return/exchange once in 30 days. I exchanged it already, so does this mean I cannot return it?

You can return it, but I believe you're not allowed to play musical chairs with phones. Every single box you open costs the company hundreds of dollars.

I do extensive research online first on any phone I'm looking at getting before I go in, then narrow it down to what phones I'm interested in, then spend a few hours playing around with them until I make a selection. Saves yourself the $35 in most cases, unless you have an issue with one and need to return and switch for another, but it's gonna be $35 each switch, so why waste $70+ just for the heck of it?
