Default question about picture messaging with no data plan

So, new here and not sure where to post this.

I've just gotten a hand-me-down BB from my sister(She got a fancy new iPhone,) and I have a few questions.

First, I have a Mac computer and tried to transfer pictures using bluetooth and USB but I don't have a SD card and bluetooth won't transfer pictures (No necessary services?)

Secondly, I do not have a data plan, I do have an unlimited texting plan (MMS,SMS) and I was wondering if I sent myself a picture message from my email and it received as a text would it use data(which I don't have a plan for)?
same goes for sending picture messages.

thanks.

MMS does not get billed as data usage, but when you put your SIM in that BlackBerry and start using it, you get auto-provisioned with the $25.00 2GB data service for the phone.

Two points of note:
1: That BlackBerry is likely still tied to a BIS account, and AT&T Technical Support can clear it from that account so you can use it as you see fit.
2: The service books for MMS messaging, by default, are not delivered to a BlackBerry without a BlackBerry data feature. If you don't pay tribute to RIM, nothing works right. Though a few people have managed to bypass all of that.
