PSA: AT&T raised early upgrade fee from $75 to $250

If this has been posted, please ignore this post...I went to my AT&T store to use my early upgrade option to het a new Torch 9810...last year, I used it to upgrade to a 9700 and the early upgrade was $75...well, my friend tells me they raised it to $250!!!

She said too many people were using the option to get new phones so they raised it.

So, what I thought would be $125 for an early upgrade turned out to be $300....so I had to pass until I'm eligible for my normal upgrade in January....dammit.

This has been known/active for awhile but it is good for folks who do not know. Sometimes if you call AT&T, they will do a "Secure upgrade" which eliminates the Early Upgrade Fee.

If you want a regular upgrade instead of an early upgrade, don't cop an attitude, and ask within a couple weeks of your set upgrade date. You might get some consideration, but if you start making demands and threatening to cancel, then it's LETTER OF THE LAW and you get nothing.
