Angry Most INCOMPETENT company ever.

Has anyone else absolutely HAD IT with AT&T??? Seriously, there is no word in the English language for how frustrated I am...ever since upgrading to the Torch in November, I have had nothing but problems. I love the device but it took THREE to get one that actually worked, and I've had a few issues with apps and glitches. EVERY time I call AT&T, it takes anywhere from three to ten people to get someone that *might* be able to help me. I'm on the phone for HOURS on end, placed on hold several times, transferred, often disconnected, transferred to the wrong person, and given inconsistent information. Every person I speak with tells me something different. Some aren't even able to answer basic questions. I don't know WHAT is going on! I am lucky if I get even one person out of ten who speaks English as a first language. I know it's obvious that they've done a LOT of outsourcing, but this goes WAY beyond that.

When a customer has to HANG UP ON SOMEONE and call back, go through the entire wait time and entering numbers to get to another person several times, that is unsatisfactory! I have tried explaining to these people that I'm not angry; I just can't understand them and they can't understand me, which means we aren't able to communicate in order to continue the conversation. They will not transfer me. I am forced to hang up on them and try again, like a lottery...hoping for someone who speaks English.

This is insanity. AT&T is SCREWED when Verizon gets the iPhone. I'm not an iPhone user, but there are plenty out there who won't want to deal with AT&T's lack of competence anymore. Unfortunately, I live in a rural area where AT&T is the only option. Every time I call them, I end the call in a RAGE, often crying...I've already started smoking again three times immediately after hanging up with AT&T. I've made two complaints to the Better Business Bureau and would have made many more had I had the patience. I don't know what else to do. How do we, as their customers, the people who are paying for these services, put an end to this?

I have HAD it!

I couldnt agree more. AT&T is horrible in every aspect. From the customer service to the coverage they are a joke. They have been riding the Iphone for years and thats about to end. They are done. There is no way they can "focus on android" and make near the impact they have had. Not when Verizon has all the best droids plus the IPHONE. That being said I switched to Sprint and they are the cheapest with great devices and good coverage.

Tmobile or Sprint maybe? I was on Att before I switched to Verizon a few years ago and I completely agree with everything you said. The best way to voice your opinion is with your wallet by cancelling and moving to another carrier...

Sadly, I am STUCK with AT&T - there's no other carrier where I live. The service is actually great - never dropped a call once and usually have full 3G bars. I'm just totally SCREWED if I have any problems...unless I want to spend more than a few FULL afternoons on the phone going absolutely MENTAL. I'm seriously losing my mind - I'm still on the phone as I type, now with the 6th or 7th representative trying to get me over to BlackBerry. Where do we go to complain and have our voices heard???

I can't believe this. I'm in tears. I'm still on the phone...had to hang up for the 4th or 5th time (I've lost track, yet again). Trying to get through to RIM/BlackBerry...this will be the fourth attempt...the last guy I couldn't hear and he couldn't speak proper English. Unbelievable. I feel like I'm trapped in an awful acid-induced nightmare and there's no other way out than to keep trying to trudge through it. This is insane. How are they getting away with this?????

There is a reason Consumer Reports blasted AT&T (A Suck & Suck as I call it) about their horrible service.

That is astonishing. It's too bad coverage issues keep you from switching, but have you considered T-Mobile? They have UMA enabled and it works really, really well, even in areas with no traditional cell coverage, all you need is wifi. I've used them with certain projects and was very satisfied. UMA is that good.

I'm also a very happy VZW customer and I think their CS is the tops. Their tech support is sometimes too regimented but it gets the job done. If for some readon I couldn't stay with VZW I would be okay with T-Mobile.

As for adding a little volume to get your grievance heard, have you tried planetfeedback.com (is that what it's called?)?

Good luck.

Can you post your problems here so that someone can help you if they are aware and most of the times I get my technical problems sorted here at the CB than at the AT&T.

Yeah, AT&T has much better coverage in VT. But VZW is the coverage winner in NH. Go figure...

Have you thought about writing them a letter through Planetfeedback.com? I've used it for VZW and other companies with much success.

AT&T CS is just plain BAD.

I am on T-Mobile but I would go to VZW if I had to. Don't like their prices but their CS is far better than AT&T.

Honestly, I never saw why anyone went to AT&T. Their prices are similar to VZW, but they lack the coverage for the most part. Why not just go with VZW? It seems to have more value for your dollar there. And in my expeirence, if speed is what you want and you have the coverage, go with T-Mobile. Their 3G/4G network speed is great.

With the original post's stating problems of: a working phone, apps, and glitches, it doesn't sound like AT&T is the one you should be angry with.

I may possibly be the only person who doesn't have a bad experience with AT&T customer srvc...if I call and get someone I can't understand I just ask to be transfered and its done and when I have issues they are resolved pretty quickly...I don't have a problem with the coverage either...I've been with AT&T for about 4 or 5 years and I have nothing to complain about nor do I have any intentions on switching carriers....
