Default Does checking VM count towards minutes?

New to AT&T and when I asked the person on the phone when ordering if checking my VM counted towards my minutes used they said no. I was specific in my question as it was one of the few I had regarding service and since we (me and the rep) determined I would only need the smallest plan, that was an important question. Now I see it charged me minutes when I set up my VM, so I'm wondering if it will charge when I check it? It seems the visual VM doesn't count so maybe that will help me of the normal does use minutes.

Yes, checking VM basically calls in to a number, so it uses minutes.

However, you have a Torch... setup visual voice mail, which is free and does not use minutes.

Yeap, sure does. Which is why I had my voicemail turned off. I mean if you miss a call, you will see the missed call upon checking ur blackberry and if its that important I'm sure the person wouldve texted or BBM to begin with.
