Default Connecting to the internet on my laptop

Hello everyone. I started college again and well; I find myself needing to use the internet on my laptop. I have a BlackBerry Torch (with the unlimited data plan) on AT&T. I was wondering what I could do or if I can use my blackberry's data plan to use the internet on my laptop. I've been connecting to public network's but they are so darn unsecure that they don't stay connected.

What I'd like to do is either be able to insirt my sim card into a usb connect card or tether form my blackberry. How musch ata is available on the unlimited network? isn't it like 5GB? Would I use that much or even TOUCH that much by browsing the wen using IM, email etc on my laptop if this is available?

you have to be very careful about this because if ATT finds out and they will especially if you stay logged into the pc for long periods of time they will start charging you for tethering. so if it is going to be a lot you could pay the $20 tether fee or if you have a lot of free ATT hotspots paying a monthly ATT dsl subscription might be more ideal. Every now and then I'll pay a one time fee of $3.99/2 hours to log into an ATT hotspot because I'm not usually in an area without some sort of wifi accessible.

Hmmm. maybe I should purchase the tether then, because I'd be logged onto it for at least 12 hours through the week.
