Default Come on AT&T - What Gives ??

My contract just expired with AT&T. I have enjoyed their service and even their customer service has been OK ..

My rant is that I can't understand why they are sitting on the 9900 (BB) ? All US carriers are selling the phone, heck even Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, India is selling the phone. I just don't understand. I am a huge BB fan. I enjoy the comfort of using both the BB 9700 and the iphone 3GS currently but I've had these phones for 2 years. I'm ready for a new device. I would like the 9900 OR the HTC Holiday (Android) that was said to also be released on AT&T BUT THEY DONT HAVE EITHER !!!!

I may have to switch to Verizon for the simple fact that I can get either a 9930 of a nice HTC Android phone. I dont want to switch but AT&T better get with it instead of relying on the iphone to carry them ...Thanks for listening ..

iPhone 5.
I think that's the reason.

No one really knows.

You should ***** at Apple.

Essentially they are leaning on AT&T to hold off on all phone releases until well after the I5 release.

That way, I5 maximizes all of the upgradeable contracts.

At least that's what a little birdie told me...

^like someone said apple could have a say in bold sales and not the 9810?i don't believe apple has to do anything with it.there will be a lot of consumers purchasing i5 so they don't have to worry about one bb hindering them.apple's real competitor is android not blackberry right now.with jobs stepping down recently as ceo, android could surpass apple in the near future.blackberry still has to catch up in the race.they haven't made anything similar to apple or android yet.all hopes for them lie on qnx being successful.

I am definitely sick of the phone lineup for ATT...I have the Torch 9800, and I love it, but seriously, just the Torch 2? and the only difference I saw between the two was the OS7 and HD video recording? I don't even use the HD video, so basically, I'd be paying over $100 just for the new OS7 for my upgrade. I'm looking forward to the 9900, I love that style, but good god, I'd like it to be released sometime in my lifetime. Maybe some other new BB's too? That's asking a little too much I know but...ugh. Sick of seeing "Curve 3G" and "Torch 9800" and now the Torch 2 9810 on the ATT lineup...get some variety up in here!

I'm right along with you OP.. I'm thinking about opening up a VZW account also just to get the 9930.. and i don't even like CDMA phones.. but ATT is making me mad with their phone lineup so far.. every single US carrier have it. even Tmo release their release date..

I don't think apple or att is worried about bold 9900 sales vs iPhone5 sales.. because we all know Apple fanboys n apple are to far up they're *** to switch to a blackberry or a HTC.. even new buyers

ATT is seriously slacking with their lineup of phones, nothing aside from the 9900 intrigues me.

If u think the only diff btwn the 9800 & 9810 is HD vid, u haven't seen the T2.
Faster, faster & faster w/a 1.2gig proessor. I got the 9800 the day it dropped. The 9810 is what the 9800 should have been.
I'm with everyone on the 9900 tho....common already. Att, get with it.

You guys really think AT&T is holding back for Apple? AT&T doesn't care! They still get the subscribers. Whether it's a BlackBerry or iPhone, you're going to be on a data plan. You will use minutes. In fact, I'm sure they'd prefer a BlackBerry user not bogging the network down before an iPhone bandwidth hog.... that's for sure.

People need to get Apple out their minds/heads. The phone will sell, whether there are 0 or 20 phones released a month ahead of it.

They bring the 9810 out, but the reason they aren't bring the 9900 out is because of the next generation iPhone?

Not sure what the numbers are now, but AT&T had the largest number of BlackBerry users after the iPhone among the U.S. carriers.

It's telling that a recent report posted over at BGR indicated that sales of the Torch were rather sluggish its first week out at AT&T. While over at Sprint, the Bold 9930, which is already available there, has been doing quite well.

That means that AT&T put its initial eggs in the wrong basket. You'd think they would have known the built up anticipation for the new Bold long before now.

No problem buddy.

I do have a question though... Doesn't the "e" in the word "english" have to be capitalized? I was also under the impression that the word "its" and "ran" were in the English dictionary. Oh well... maybe I need to go back to school for proper "grammar" (not English).

Ever here (oops hear... lol) of a "possessive pronoun"? I ask because the word "its" was used correctly.

It's (or its or it's... i'm confused man) the internetz man. Grammatical errors are made from time to time, especially when I'm using my iPhone to moderate.

Thanks for the heads up though

---------------------------

Back on topic though... I may still end up getting a 9810 if my good friend hooks me up with one.
